The Captain’s Log

My work explores the Social Age: it looks at how we are radically connected, how power is rebalanced, and how our experience of culture and belonging has changed as a result.

I’ve written 19 books, looking at leadership, learning, culture, innovation, complexity and failure, all at the intersection of social and formal systems.

The context of the Social Age exerts pressure on our legacy structures of Organisations and society.

Through research, and the process of #WorkingOutLoud, i explore this space.

Writing is part of my practice: Monday to Thursday i write over on the Blog. And on Fridays, i use this space for a deeper dive into aspects of the Social Age, as well as providing context and commentary around my writing from this week.

My writing here is open, and this community welcomes anyone.

If you are able, you can support my writing through a subscription, which gives me space to think and write. But it’s not necessary.

Thank you for your interest in my work, and for joining me in this space.

My work explores leadership, learning, culture and change in the context of the Social Age. I carry out original research and use this to sketch out ideas of how our societies, and organisations, must evolve.
